Disney Vero Beach Resort
We spent a week at a beachfront 3-bedroom villa with family – kids and grand-kids – 9 of us! Disney Vero Beach (DVB) is a beachfront resort on the Atlantic coast of Florida.
DVB is one of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts but is also open to anyone to book. I have a recent post of the resort and activities here.

The resort has Inn rooms in the main building that have 2 beds and a kitchenette. There are also studio rooms with a kitchenette in the 15 other building units. These buildings also have 1 and 2-bedroom units with full-size, fully stocked kitchens. Some rooms in the buildings have connecting doors.
There are 6 beach-side cottages that are 3 bedrooms, 3 bath free-standing buildings. The backside of the cottages faces the protected dunes and the beach.

Now I want to show you a picture walk-through of the beach-side cottage we lived in for a week.
Here are the room layouts from Disney:
Bottom floor
Top Floor
As you can see, the bedrooms are on the bottom floor and the living room, kitchen and dining room are upstairs. The bottom floor has a front porch with rocking chairs and a swing. At the back of the first floor is a private patio that is accessible from each bedroom.
Beach-side Cottage Lower Floor
As you walk in, the large open foyer has beach-themed decor.
From the foyer, you can go upstairs, into each of the bedrooms, or my favorite room; the laundry room.
The bedrooms other than the master have 2 queen beds and their own bath. I somehow did not get pictures of the bathroom for the bedroom on the right.

I love how the coastal theme is carried throughout the cottage.

Everything in the cottage was clean, fresh, and appealing.
There was also a dresser and large TV. With a TV in each bedroom and one upstairs, the cottage has 4 TV’s!

The bottom floor has a patio in the back. Each bedroom has an opening to the patio. The patio is partially shaded by the dunes and foliage. Disney Vero Beach supports the preservation of 3 species of threatened or endangered sea turtles: loggerheads, greens, and leather-backs. Because of this, the dunes to the beach have foliage to protect the turtles. Also, windows on the beach side of the buildings are tinted to keep the light away from the beach because moonlight leads the hatched turtles to the ocean.
That pretty much covers the first floor. 😎
Beach-side Cottage Top Floor
The beach decor is beautiful! There are a lot of windows and all of them have a teal ombre pattern window covering that is so appealing and appropriate for the beach. These steps lead from the foyer to the top floor.
The upper floor has a large living room with a huge TV, a full kitchen, a small dining table, and a large dining table. Extra seating is also available at the counter bar. There is a full refrigerator, microwave, oven with glass cook-top, a dishwasher, garbage disposal, toaster, blender, mixer, and Keurig coffee pot! There are place settings for 12 and all pots, pans, and other things needed in a kitchen. In fact, we had one meal with turkey and ham and all the fixings!
The windows have spectacular views and since we were there in hot weather, it was nice to have shades and curtains to block the heat.
We spent a lot of time in the living room area, watching movies, watching football and playing board games! There was plenty of room for all of us to do our own thing. I spent a bit of time at the large dining room table working on my laptop. 🙃
The living room couch also makes a queen bed. Drawers under the TV can be used for clothing if needed. One of the grandchildren decided this would be a cool place to sleep although we had plenty of room. 🤣
The Upper Decks
One of the special things about the DVB cottages is the outside areas. There is a front porch, lower back patio, and front and back upper decks.
I have already included a picture of the front porch and back patio, so now it’s time for the upper decks.
The front has a large deck over the porch. It has two padded lounge chairs and a table with four chairs.
The back deck over the patio faces the ocean with spectacular views – we even saw cruise ships in the distance several times.
It also has 2 padded deck chairs and a table with 4 chairs. We spent a lot of time on this deck.
We ate at the deck tables several times.

Do you know if the upper level is handicapped accessible?
That is an excellent question. Disney Vero Beach has 6 3-BR cottages. When we were there, they were making one of them handicapped accessible. I have not seen the inside yet to see how they worked it in, but plan to see if I can look inside when we are there this fall. So, yes there is one cottage.
