Is your home decorated in your favorite baseball team colors and memorabilia? Do you spend the off-season in a state of depression? If these are true, you may be a die-hard baseball fan.

We met a couple several years ago on a Disney Cruise that we have stayed close friends with although they live across the country from us! They have an amateur baseball team in their town that they support and they are also Cubs fans. They host players for the local team in their home and call the players their “summer sons”. I think they truly get depressed during the off-season. 🙂
As a surprise for them, I decided to make a baseball wreath for their door.
Here’s how I made it in case you need one for yourself or someone you love. These are the supplies I used: I started with a STYROFOAM Wreath Form, soft foam baseballs, 2.5″ wired burlap ribbon, 5.5″ burlap ribbon, floral pins, 2 7/8″ accent ribbons, a 5 X 7 craft wood plaque, bamboo grill skewers, and white craft paint. I also used scissors, snips and foam paint brush.
I used the wired burlap ribbon to cover the wreath form. Doing this will keep the styrofoam from showing on the back or sides.
I used straight pins and floral pins to keep the ribbon in place.
Using the wider burlap, I made the ruffles, by making small loops and pinning into place with floral pins. This part doesn’t have to be perfect.
I cut the small baseball ribbon and the white accent ribbon into about 8″ strips and stuck them within the burlap, again using straight pins and floral pins.
The foam baseballs were attached with a skewer. I cut the skewer down to a few inches, where it would go into the baseball but not all the way through. You can see I left the sharp end sticking out so I could stick it into the styrofoam.
I used white craft paint to paint the wood board. Then using my Silhouette Cameo, I created the sign wording with Oracal 651 vinyl.
Are you a die-hard baseball fan? You need this baseball wreath! #Baseball #Wreath #BaseballFan #DieHardFan Share on XI used a heavy duty stapler and some twine to make a hanger for the sign and attached it to the wreath with floral pins.
I think the finished product looks good. If we were baseball fans, I would make one for us 🙂 We are college football fans (Go Tennessee Vols!) so I may need to make a Tennessee wreath for us for the fall!
I hope you enjoyed this how-to as much as I did putting it together.

We love the idea of using foam baseballs instead of real ones so that you can attach them easier! We probably would have had hot glue everywhere trying to attach a real baseball to the wreath. 🙂

Thanks! I decided a real baseball would be hard to attach and also make the wreath pretty heavy.
